Caffeine. My love language. There is honestly no better feeling than when that first sip of coffee in the morning touches your soul. I’ll take my caffeine fix anyway I can: hot, iced, cold brew, concentrated, straight from an IV, you name it I’ve downed it. Raleigh has grown so much since I’ve lived here, and there are so many cool places to go and drink coffee until you are shaking all over. I have a few of my favorites that I frequent & I thought I’d share them with y’all, so you too can guzzle down all the coffee in sight until you are shaking and are awake for 3 days straight…
I basically lived here in college. No joke, I could’ve moved a bed into this establishment and no one probably would’ve noticed. Cup of Joe looks like a hole in the wall from the outside (and even when you walk in), but give it a chance. It has some of the best coffee/espresso in all of Raleigh. One cup of basic brewed coffee is enough to power through that paper, meet that deadline, or whatever else you’re trying to accomplish that day (or in your life). They have different specials going on each day, and also have cookies and rice krispie treats the size of my head (I have a huge head for reference). I feel like the vibe is at it’s peak on Sunday mornings, so go then, bring you laptop, get one of they oh so caffeinated coffee drinks, make yourself comfortable in one of their eclectic seating options, & get to shaking.
This little spot is located right in the heart of downtown Raleigh, and is such a good spot to hang out and drink your caffeine, as well as take multiple pictures of it for the ‘gram. If you’re lucky enough to grab an outside seat, the trees will perfectly shade you, and the coffee is strong enough to motivate you to do even the most boring tasks. If you order a hot drink, they do the ~cool & trendy~ latte art which again, is another fabulous thing you can post on the ‘gram. What makes this place such a gem is it’s location. You can walk to pretty much anywhere (or Bird scooter) from The Morning Times. Seriously, next time your downtown and are about to fall asleep, check it out.
Located in Cameron Village, Benelux is a really great place &&&& they have fantastic waffles. They have such a large coffee and tea selection, it’s super easy to find something for everyone. You can get an entire french press of coffee, or a whole tea pot for super cheap. The location is in an okayish spot of Cameron Village, not located in the heart of it, but you’re still able to walk to the other shops and spend all your money at some very expensive and boujie stores.
I love Fig. Fig is cool. Fig is ascetically pleasing. Fig is everything you are needing for the ‘gram. They can make pretty much any coffee drink your little jittery heart desires, and has some of the best tea. The tea is served in a clear little tea pot so if that’s not enough of a reason for you to go give this place a whirl than. Alsoooo, if you drink your coffee/tea and you decide you need something a little bit stronger, then they have a FULLY STOCKED BAR that makes the cutest cocktails. They have outside seating, as well as inside seating, so if you’re ~outdoorsy~ you can totally feed into that and life your best life outside. I prefer the inside because I hate all things nature. One last recommendation, if you’re a lady like myself, make sure to check out the little girls room. It’s so well decorated. Thank me later.
Raleigh is blessed with sooooo many cool places to grab a cup of beautiful caffeinated bliss, and you can check out some more places here that I haven’t been to myself. If y’all have any recommendations that aren’t included on my list or in the Offline link, let me know in the comments below!
