I love the beach. I love a good frozen marg. When the two are combined, I am swept away into a perfect world where no harm can be done to me. I was at the beach with my family last week, and this is where I was able to first hand experience my Aunt Michele’s margarita recipe. It was easy, it was delicious, and it was perfect for guzzling on the beach. She truly blessed me by sharing her recipe with me, and now you too will be blessed & will be able to guzzle a delicious frosty marg while tanning your a$$ on the beach! Recipe/Instructions below!
You will need:
1) 1 52 oz. Tropicana Simply Limeade
2) 1 52 oz. Tropicana Simply Lemonade
3) Triple Sec (optional)
4) Your fave tequila (Aunt Michele uses Jose Cuervo!)
How to make them:
In a pitcher, combine the limeade and lemonade into one delicious juice mix. Place the bottles to the side.
Add 2 cups of tequila to the mixture.
Add about half a cup of triple sec to the mixture. Per Aunt Michele, this helps smooooth it out.
After mixing WELL, pour half of the mixture into one of the Tropicana bottles, and the other half into the other. Make sure to only fill to the base of the neck of the bottle to allow the mixture to expand as it freezes. Any left over marg that doesn’t fit in the bottles, simply freeze in the pitcher or whatever device you wish! Place in the freezer long enough to freeze them SOLID.
If transporting the margs to the beach, place the frozen container in your cooler that you’re taking with you. Once you arrive to the beach, place the marg in the sun so it can begin to thaw and develop into the slushy texture you know and love. After 20ish minutes, begin to shake the marg (you can also beat it against your towel on the ground to help break up the slush). This will help the marg to become slushy and delicious. Pour into your desired marg vessel of your choice, and ENJOY!
